Artwork Type Setting

We have added in the process Artwork Type Setting to all Glass and Acrylic Trophies. This give you the opportunity to add a small charge into each award for Artwork Type Setting. It is set as default to $0.00 so there is not price impact at all unless you set a price for this.

The reasoning behind this is to capture a value to the act of typesetting which helps you collect money for the art department and also adds dollar value to the Departments Performance Report. The report shows you how much money the department has generated.

It is entirely up to you whether you utelise this process but I might just indulge you in how we use this. An Art department in a Trophy business adds a whole new cost to making trophies. Computers, software and office space is required as well as an employee to do the artwork. Even if you as the owner are the one that does the artwork you should be capturing some value from it. Yes you can just simply say that the mark up and process charges take care of this and you'd be right. Thats a simple and ultimately effective way of management accounting. However if you are interested in seeing department performance and analysis where your dollars come from then AwardPro does provide practically effortless reporting to give you great information about your business.

In my business we set the typesetting at $1.00 and this generates thousands of dollars per year to help pay for the cost of the Art department. Interestingly when I tally up Art type setting and Artwork set up charge it comes close to covering the wages of one of my graphic artists each year which in turn relieves costs and adds to the bottom line

You may not want to capture this so you just remove it from all products. Or you may not be sure if you do or do not. If your not sure right know simple leave the process in the products and leaev the price at $0.00 to have no effect.
