Introduction
Analyse Sales Performance is a powerful feature that shows you instantly the cost and profit of a job. From the sales screen you can open the Sales Performance screen to see each line items breakdown of cost and profit and you can see the whole jobs total cost and Gross Profit.
Further more you can add in your estimated time to produce the order and if you have filled in your Operating Costs in the System Set Up the Analyse Sales Performance calculator will work out the cost of overhead and labour and then present you with the Net Profit after all costs.
Analyse Sales Performance helps you make decisions on pricing by presenting you with the facts in black and white.
Sale Value: The total value of the sale (ex-tax)
Cost of Goods Sold: The total cost of all materials in the sale. The percentage factor is percentage to sale total.
Gross Profit: The gross profit earned after materials are paid for. The Percentage factor is percentage to the sale total.
Estimated Time: You can add in an estimated time to produce the order here and then press the Calculate button. If you have set up your Operating Cost Centre in System Set Up The program will then calculate the labour and overhead cost and provide profit analysis in detail.
Actual Time: After the work is complete, if you had the job timed you can come back here and enter the actual time and then re-calculate to get the real Profit factors for the job.
This data is valuable information for when you go to do the job again in 12 months. You can see if your estimates were correct and if you need to adjust the price to improve your profitability.
Having an estimate and actual time record also will help you refine your estimations for future costing analysis.
Labour and Overhead cost: Based on the operating cost centre values.
Net Profit: Shows the business Net Profit before tax
Earnings per hour: divides the Net profit by the Estimated or Actual Time to show you what your earnings per hour are.
Business Tax: The value is drawn from the Tax set up in System Set Up.
Net Earnings: The net amount earned for the job after all costs and business tax has been extracted. Just need to add in the personal top up tax to show the back pocket cash earning for the job.

It is not possible to make this profit analysis completely accurate. There are too many variables involved such as real (unrecorded) time, sales budget trajectory achievement etc. This feature is designed to be a guide only and should not be considered as precise information.
