Introduction

This document explains how to upgrade your AwardPro Version. From time to time you get program upgrades that have bug fixes or feature enhancements. In most cases you will receive a link to the new exe file by email.

It is important to stay up to date with the latest version as it fixes any reported bugs, provides new features and upgrades you data base with necessary scripts. If you do not update and newer version are released you may not be able to update until old versions are updated.

If you require assistance to update or require a disc with the update exe file we charge and update assist fee.

Important Information

You have top copy the new exe file into the AwardPro bin folder which has the current exe file in it. Maker sure you make a copy of the current exe file first so that you can revert back to it if needed.

Do not remove the current exe file from the bin and then paste the new exe file into the bin. The current file must be in the bin and the new file must be copied into the bin (Copy and Replace) THis is because the new file receives mapping data from the old file as it is replaced.

Always make a back up of your data base before any updating takes place.

Updating Procedure.

1.      Make a back up of your current data base
System Set Up > Back Up/Restore
 

2.      Make a copy of your current exe file and place it in the old exe folder
Awardpro/bin/old exe (if there is not an old exe folder in the Bin folder please make one)
 

3.      Download the new exe file from the Awardpro ftp site
http://download.awardpro.biz/AwardPro.exe

Copy the above URL address to a browser.
When asked to To Run or Save - Choose Save as
Save the file in a place were you will be able to find it once downloaded

 

4.      Ensure all computers have closed out of AwardPro before copying the new exe file into the Awardpro/bin folder.
 

5.      Copy the file into the Awardpro/bin folder (copy and replace)
 

6.      Open AwardPro
 

7.      Finished
